First of all, what is a waypoint?
If you are planning a ride but you want to ride via certain places, or if you are going somewhere on the far side of a river, you may want to set a waypoint.
A waypoint is just a way of segmenting a journey. If you know that you would like to travel from The Shard in London for example to Buckingham Palace, you might choose to set a waypoint on Waterloo Bridge to make sure that you are guided to a river crossing. If you want to go via 10 Downing Street you can drop a waypoint pin there too.
To set a waypoint on iOS, first set your destination. Once your destination is set you can either type your waypoints into the top search bar (that has 'via' next to it) or you can tap anywhere on the grey line to drop a pin on the map. Once your pin has been dropped you can click and hold on it to drag it to anywhere you like on the map.
Here is an example of using a waypoint if we took a ride from our office to The Shard and wanted to go via the Tower of London:
On Android, the process is slightly different. Instead of entering your final destination and then picking waypoints along the way, you will enter your waypoints in the order that you would like to go to them. Enter each waypoint in the order that you would like to hit them.
If you would like to go to The Shard via the Tower of London enter the Tower of London first, then enter the Shard. If you would like to move your destination or waypoints after entering them simply press and hold on the pin and drag it to where you like. For example, you can move your Tower of London pin to Tower Bridge if you so fancy.
Once you've set off on a journey your Beeline will guide you to your waypoints. When you are within 100m (330ft) of your waypoint your Beeline will automatically skip to the next waypoint.
If you would like to manually skip through waypoints, you can skip to the next waypoint by tapping the top button on your Beeline and you can go back to previous waypoints by tapping the bottom button. You can also skip waypoints on the app by pressing the left and right buttons above the arrow.
