You asked for hacks. Here is mine.
When I first used the Beeline I had a problem with it coming off the handelbars due to fact that my bars have a larger diameter than most.
I decided to fit a male garmin mount onto the back of the unit so I could hold it more securely.
I bought the mount from Amazon (SRAM male mount) and cut off the piece I didn't need.
I attached it to the back of the case using Araldite (after roughing up the surfaces a little) and because I didn't need the complete strap I cut it up and attached some string.
This works great for me, although getting the unit out of the case to charge it is a little harder than before.
