I got my beeline in the first. Arch but it's taken me months to feedback so apologies. Firstly I totally loved the packaging. Recyclable! Slicky done and some nice little additions.
Everything "fits" beautifully.
I had the "what's the triangle" moment for a few seconds but worked it out.
Pairing worked first time and was easy.
There is a slight lack of uniformity in the backlight as it tends to predominate from one side.
One the first ride it did the job but I somewhat lacked confidence with it as when paired there was a 90 degree difference between my phone and the device. This was possibly a magnetic field but it made my nervous. Was cycling with my old man who knows all the roads around Carlisle and he somewhat didn't get the concept telling me I was "going the wrong way". It took him a while to realise there isn't a "wrong way" just a general location to get to and a direction to go. He still had "sat nav" in his mind.
The magnet symbol triggered an awful lot, again making me nervous that it might not be pointing the right way. Perhaps it should only show if it has been detecting multiple strong fields over time period or maybe just showing when it really detects so many that you need to calibrate. Seeing it so often just made me doubt it. I can't do anything about the field and the device is just saying "this could be wrong" this prompted me to check the map...
I noticed the screen itself had some much rougher pixilated graphics after the latest firmware update making the calibration screen look a bit fuzzy as did the arrows "point"
The device did the job but I am still nervous about doing a trip completely "blind" as one of us knew the way. This is coming soon (a 2 Dayer)so will feedback.
loved the post trip info and the layout of the app. The phone post trip summary screen could look a little prettier with some kind of image rather than just text. Given today's desire for fitness info how about "calories burned" or ability to export ride data into health/activity apps?
I do love it and recognise it is still being developed. It's still a genius idea.
Perhaps some focus and ensuring consumer confidence with the product will make it even better.
