Hi all! The current limitation of 22 waypoints is something we're addressing very shortly. We hope to release a fix for this in June!

Thanks for your patience and all your feedback, including the clever ways to hack a solution for this.

    Hi David,

    Sorry for the delay!

How many waypoints are you trying to save? There's no hard limit but we've tried stress-testing this recently and the app doesn't perform very well if you have hundreds...!

How do you image open cycle mapping would be integrated into Beeline? (Edit: I like the idea!)

Hi, thanks for the reply. The number of waypoints would only be around 50 or so but my saved routes were limited to less than 20 when I tried plotting in Beeline.

I imagine open cycle map to be an alternative to the default mapping. I use ViewRanger a lot and online maps can be selected from a variety of options, available to be downloaded for offline use.

Thanks for letting us know David, we're looking into it. Are you using the Android or the iOS app?

    Thanks Chet, I'm using Android.

Hi Chet, does the Beeline app support more than 20 waypoints now? On my iOS version it seems to max out about 22 waypoints per route… which makes detailed planning very tricky as the 'automatic' route between two points is not always the route I wish to take…

There does appear to be a maximum number of waypoints: I have just tried to load a route into Beeline on my Android phone and when I switch the Route mode on I'm told the maximum number of waypoints is exceeded - "Too many waypoints in request (62)". The message goes on to say "the maximum allowed ..." but I can't display the rest of the message. It is a route of about 20 miles, so not long. ViewRanger displays the route with 260 waypoints, and if I can't use Beeline I shall have to use ViewRanger, but I would have preferred the big Beeline pointer.

Any progress on this Beeline? I'm keen to get on the pre-order list for Moto - but not until the app can handle more than 22 waypoints. I have a 3-hour circular route planned, and it is 44 way points. For longer tours - 2-3 days  - this could easily exceed 100… so Beeline needs to step up.

All other aspects of Moto look great - please don't fall down this one area.

Google Maps / Beeline routes will pick the shortest route, could you remove a couple of midpoints to bring it down to 22?

Some of the gpx routes I’ve found online had far too many waypoints, using it more like tracks than route points. Over 300 waypoints was far too many! Creating the routes myself, I’ve found 22 waypoints sufficient per day, for 5 full days (1400 miles) twisty riding. If 22 is still not enough, could easily plan them as half days?

Is this problem fixed does anyone know?  I haven't bought at Beeline yet and this does really concern me. It's impossible to plot longer routes with so few waypoints, and to be honest I don't really need one for the shorter routes nearer home.

I am waiting for my ordered Beeline. In the meantime I try to use the app on my phone. But so far that's not going well. Every route I design can't be loaded because it exceeds the max number of waypoints. I live in South Africa and was looking for a tool to help me ride of the beaten track on gravel roads, jeep tracks, forestry roads etc without getting lost or having to stop often to check the map on my phone. 22 waypoints is not a lot if you want custom routes. Is there a way to work around this or this my ordered beeline gonna be a waste....I hope not because it looked so promising.

Hey @Basrennings! There will definitely be a fix for it. II've just checked in with the tech team. This issue will be resolved in time for launch of Moto. It will actually still be a problem for Velo for a short while longer, but the good news is it'll be ready for Moto!

Hi Beeline,I have just brought a velo modal and tried uploading a GPX file however it is still saying that it cannot handle more than 22 waypoints. Can you please provide an update on when this will be fixed? Many thanks
