App stuck on 'checking for updates' screen

    I've got the same problem with Pixel XL. The app stuck at the "Checking for updates" screen; reattaching the device doesn't help

    Still an ongoing problem. 24hrs and counting. 

    By switching off the App and then going back in I can use it but still have that annoying red banner across the screen.
