I'm out. I've requested my refund and will be deleting my account on this board.  If I ever hear about Beeline again, I hope it's in the financial news as they go under.

    Shame, it's a wonderful product.

I have yet to see any evidence that it is a "wonderful product" and the comms from the company are appalling, but the unit is handy. However, if I had the means to use google maps on my bike instead (obscure chinese phone brand with no reliable waterproof holder) then I would.

Beeline provides a neat and simple navigational aid, I will always say that because I am looking at it from an objective view. It is not the best thing since sliced bread (but has never claimed to either).

I value it for what it is, but it does not stand out over other products and the service certainly does not either. There are many cheap motorbike GPS units on aliexpress and the like and I think that after using the Moto, I might even try one of them.

I've put my Beeline Moto to it's first test today. No highways at all, roughly 400 kilometres and 7 hours on the bike.

I have to say the Beeline exceeded my expectations, of course there is room for some improvements, like complex intersections, quick turns following on eachother and the integration of road work/closed roads like in Google Maps.

Overall I am happy with the product, it also survived its first contact with water, keep up the good work Beeline, can't wait for the updates to come.

    Hi together,
I‘m still waiting, but I think the product will be worth it.
As I wrote: I ordered mine in August 2018: at this point the Moto wasn‘t an existing Product (just the bicycle version).
Yes, all the delays and all the few updates are frustrating (btw: I planned more than one holiday-trip, hoping for I’ll get lead by Beeline) but still I think the Moto is worth it to wait.
In the meantime I saw pictures an videos of the Moto, so now it is an existing Product and it couldn‘t take so much longer to get mine.
And, after this long time - what is a week or two longer to wait (see: still patient and optimistic 😁).
Hope you will not regret your decision (because now you have to pay a higher price).
    Take care!

    ...and see:
„We had previous said your units should be arriving at our warehouse on Monday 16th September. Unfortunately we received news earlier today that there have been further delays with manufacture and shipping to UK, due to quality issues on the batch and rejection by our quality control folks.

We now expect to receive the units in the UK towards the end of next week, and out to you the week after. As mentioned previously, no new orders of Gun Metal Grey units will be shipped out before yours.“
So, another week is passing by...

@andy salmon, I made a video of my first run. It's one of two on youtube, one from me on my Sv, and an Australian. It's real and in my opinion it's fabulous.

    OK @Beeline @Kate...

As promised I would come back on here and offer my initial thoughts on the much awaited device. First impressions were that I thought the screen was not as 'slick' looking as I thought it would be, but still a. decent looking piece of kit and looks great (and minimal) on the bike...

I only went for about 40 miles, breaking the ride into two journeys (that I knew... a destination and then back via a different route). I wanted to see what the re-routing capability was like as I knew it would initially take me along a route I didn't want to go. Which brings me onto my first recommendation. it would be good if @beeline could add 'dual carriageways' to the avoid option as the current setting only allows for avoiding motorways I believe...

Re-routing was ok, but I will admit that it lost me several times (by lost I mean the device stopped tracking my route for about 5-10 seconds). I kept following 'my' route to ensure it kept updating and for that, it seemingly performed well. I then decided to follow the device and forget my favoured route... it took me through some serious country lanes and lost me (again the device stopped tracking me) several times when perhaps I needed it to be solid. I have to say tho, each time it found me again within 5-10 seconds...

I got to my destination (and kept going) but was surprised that there was no fanfare for my arrival. The device seemingly just kept telling me I was going away from my destination, and I must turn around (I guess). No re-routing... I don't know if there is an arrival notification as for 3 destinations arrived at, I didn't get a 'you have arrived' message?

Route 2 again was through country lanes and eventually getting back out on to some more substantial roads. Again it performed ok, with a couple of GPS (I guess) outages, but on the whole the navigation was good. I had one (established) roundabout that it just didn't recognise at all, so just as well I knew where to go and I went straight over it... and the final route home, which was to a postcode destination was pretty much spot on, apart from again not been told I had arrived...

So... I like the device. It could and hopefully will be great, however it is just ok at the moment. I think the issues I have with it are all firmware problems, so I hope that it will just need a little time in action to get things tweaked....

    • The addition of being able to avoid 'dual carriageways' as an option would be great
    • An 'Arrival' notification I think is a must (unless it's there and I just have missed this somehow)
    • Would be awesome to include an option to see how far of your journey is left to go, and countdown...
    • Assuming your mapping is based around google maps, there was no reason it should have completely missed a roundabout...?!?!?!
    • A biggy for me this... The distance to your next Jct/turn/roundabout etc. is off. I was at whatever I needed to do and the indicator had me at still been around 100ft away. As you dont have a visual map display (which is fine as it's the point of this device) the distance needs to be a lot more accurate, or decrease a lot faster... How do I know if I'm to turn now, if the device says I am still 100ft away??? I needed to be almost stood still for this to drop to around 30ft.

So It does get. thumps up for me... but it does have areas that need improvement, and I am not sure I would go too far afield blind with it just yet. It seems to lose me too much for my liking right now and I'd be interested to know why it kept dropping signal...? @Beeline?

All extremely valid points @Scott Mountifield I think the same. It's not a bad unit at all, just that's it's not fantastic either. Some users take great offence that one of their fellow users do not think that the device is excellent and will try to defend it. It is what it is and is certainly better than a route card on the dash or tank bag! I think future development will definitely improve it, but not whilst the fanatics are saying that it is a fantastic bit of kit "as is" as @Beeline will not have any incentive to improve it.

    Continuous improvement is key.

Hi Everyone, I thought it was only fair to come back on and let you all know that My unit is now working. It has taken a while admittedly, what with waiting for them to actually be shipped and then when I got the unit it would not connect to my phone and the team was struggling to answer me. I finally got a mail from one of the owners to tell me that my Sony Experia  phone wasn't tested and was to "volatile" to work with the beeline. So I switched the app onto my company I phone and it took a while but it finally did start working and i took it for a short run this weekend on roads I hadn't been on before and it seemed to work well. Until my phone died DOH!!.

So I have to say finally thank you to Beeline for delivering what seems to be a good bit of kit, easy to use and easy to follow.
