Hey guys, thanks for flagging this! I'd say its probably top of our priorities once we've shipped Beeline Moto (in the next few weeks!) Appreciate its a bit of a pain at the mo. Bear with us! In the meantime, you can use Compass Mode and get the granularity you need by adding lots of waypoints manually, but I appreciate this isn't ideal! Thanks for your patience

I just had the same error message on my first attempt at an import of a ride of 30miles - very annoying -

what are you supposed to do say please send me your route but only if it is under 10 miles long with less than 22 turns

It would probably work if you split the route in 2 but not sure how to do that

What is the status on this one ?  Honestly : I've put the Beeline aside as long as this is not fixed :( ...

Yes, please a status update. I've imported a few gpx routes yesterday and some had too much waypoints. I hope this gets fixed soon.

The limitation on 25 way points for imported gpx files is not realistic. Planned moto & bicycle overland routes contain far more than 25 way points. Reducing the numbers makes the route unclear...25 way points might make sense for urban routes - but who plans routes in urban enviroments? Over land routes (even more for bicycles) appear not possible. I am disappointed.

for me Beeline is worthless without unlimited waypoints

Probably also the reason why route mode doesn't work

when you create a route that has the maximum amount of waypoints in it.

You can choose route mode, but when you start to ride, when it comes to the second waypoint, it doesn't count down anymore how many meters till the next waypoint, thus you have no idea how to get to your destination.

I will test it this week, with just creating a new route, without waypoints in it, just one end point and then I will choose route mode,

I'll see if it works then.

Anyway please fix this waypoints issue ASAP.

    Thanks in advance,

    ilja

Please, more way points.  Otherwise, this amazing device is useless.

Hey everyone, thanks for the comments! We've been looking into this and are continuing to work on some workarounds.

We integrate with Google Maps and Map Box, both of which have 23 waypoint (+ origin + destination) limits. Unfortunately the limit isn't set by us - it's just something that we have to deal with (like everyone else)!

This article is a bit text heavy: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/directions/intro but you can see one part of it which reads:

We're trying to figure out what we can do to deal with this and will get in touch with everyone as soon as we've got anything figured out :)

I want to import from Komoot App

there are more than 23 waypoints handled in Komoot App, so this should be possible

I'm not using beeline at the moment without removing the limitation

    Hey Beeline team,

Would appreciate total transparency ... 2 months ago the official answer was : we will fix this in the next few weeks.  But now I understand there's a technical limitation which probably means it's not going to get fixed.

Totally understand we bought a device which is in some ways experimental.  Also understand the limitation was in there when we bought it.  So I'm not going to ask money back or anything like that.

But : with this limitation, the device is in the locker gathering dust and will stay there.  The "use case" I bought the device for is to do training rides, which I'm planning upfront in Strava.  Strava has a great interface to make routes, but is really bad when it comes to navigating.  The Beeline was supposed to be the add-on for that.  Today that's not possible.  Strava is perfectly capable of handling unlimited waypoints, just like Garmin devices are.  If technical limitations make that impossible for Beeline, it is what it is.  But just tell us :-)

Hey Diedrik and Ekkehard, it won't be impossible, don't worry! We're still tiny and have a super tiny tech team but we are working on workarounds :)

Thanks guys, appreciate it.  But reading the article, this is not a "quick fix" ...  it's one of those typical technical roadblocks ...

    Hi Beeline Team,

I have read a lot of threads regarding this problem and it seems stil present from more than 6 moth's ago in the Velo version too (I guess the app is the same)... Now the question is: why you don't have solve this problem BEFORE start to ship the GPS ?

At the moment the only possible use is.... not use it !

I have to start for a trip but I'm forced to use my mobile phone as a GPS because beeline are not usable.... This is crazy !

What is the situation with the software upgrade ?

    Thank you

If you are willing to share your app code with me, I'm happy to implement this feature for you for free (happy to work under NDA).
